Teaching in the 21st Century

Just 10 years ago schools were using overhead projectors to display notes.
Items Needed:
1. Over sized Projector
2. Light bulb
3. Transparency
4. Sharpie (preferably black)
All notes were written by hand and displayed for the class to read.

Within the next 5 or so years classes started using PowerPoint presentation for notes.
Items Needed:
1.Laptop
2.Digital Projector
3.Patience (windows could malfunction)

Audio, video, and animation can now be used to better the learning experience. All it takes is simple knowledge in computers and the students have a high definition learning experience.

Today smart boards are being introduced to the classrooms. These absolutely amaze me.

Secondary schools around the nation are now offering online courses. This is taking traditional learning to an entirely new level. Programs such as ACCESS are making it possible here in Alabama.

Blogs are being used in classrooms to communicate with other classmates, classes, and schools. They are incorporating skype video messaging into their curriculum

Technology is always evolving. Teaching in the 21st century will be a constant learning experience. It is going to require a lot of time, practice, and patience. Starting in the stage I am in is going to benefit me in the long run.
